I had trouble thinking on answers that didn't seem self-serving. I also realized that most of my answers were focused on the church not outside it.
ReplyDeleteHere are my 5 answers (after a lot of thought!)
1. when I sort and pack food at Second Harvest
2. when I send money and letters to my Compassion International child
3. when I teach (or design) a class for the church
4. when I welcome a newcomer to church
5. when I pray for us as a congregation to reach the poor
I had a friend facebook me a few weeks ago, mentioning that in his own personal struggle that morning, the LORD had brought me into his thoughts. He prayed for me, not knowing that I was encountering a similar struggle as he, right at the moment he was praying! That situation taught me that we will be more likely to be an answer to prayer for others, when we listen for and obey the voice of the Father.
